    History & CultureThe Pendleton District Commission Research Room and Special Collections contains both primary and secondary sources relating to the history of Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. Research materials include local and family history books, genealogical reference materials, cemetery surveys, photographs, and both family and local history files that contain a variety of materials. The archival collections include family and business records from the tri-county area, historically known as the Pendleton District.

    The Research Room and Special Collection is located in Hunter's Store, 125 E. Queen Street in downtown Pendleton, SC. The Research Room is open Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:30pm. To make a Research Appointment, please contact:
